Evernote is as safe as any software used to store personal information, and safer than many. But common sense is required. I’ve been a user since 2008 and have never worried that my data might be lost or compromised. But any material saved online. I use evernote only because i can't stand that the text isn't easily aligned in onenote. You can click anywhere and type which makes my brain twitch with discomfort. I don't particularly like evernote though. Always looking for a better alternative. Nothing from what i've found. Box notes and dropbox paper focus too much on team collaboration and lack a lot of the features that evernote has.
